Speak Up Speak Out

School safety and the wellbeing of our students and staff are our top priorities.  We recently have implemented SPEAK UP, SPEAK OUT.  This system was created by the Department of Justice (DOJ) Office of School Safety (OSS).  Speak Up Speak Out is a comprehensive, one-stop place to turn with important concerns.  Students, parents, school staff, or any community members can submit a school safety concern or threat via our website, their website (https://speakup.widoj.gov/) mobile phone application (available on their website), or toll-free number (available on their website).  Staff work around-the-clock to respond to tips and to deploy a response locally by communicating directly with school administrators, law enforcement, and counselors.

About Us

Hello and welcome to Winneconne Elementary School!

My name is Mike Meunier, and I am the principal here at WES.  I have worked in the district for the past 11 years (6 years as the Dean of Students and then 5 years as Assistant Principal, all here at the Elementary School). We have an awesome school with over 800 students, 70 teachers and 22 teacher assistants.  We work hard to build a cohesive and friendly environment where everybody is appreciated for his/her unique talents and abilities.

We all work together to follow the Winneconne Way.  We celebrate students of the month with popcorn with the principal, pizza with the principal, adventures with the assistant principal, and PAW slips.  Students earn PAW slips for showing the Winneconne Way anywhere around school.

P=Practice kindness

A=Always show respect

W=Work to do your best

We celebrate student success in a variety of ways: monthly school wide assemblies, regular school wide character celebrations, and classroom golden ticket challenges. Additionally, each classroom celebrates students in individual ways or with group challenges.  We love supporting our students to achieve success!
